The Social Entrepreneurial Mindset

The psychology of a social entrepreneur includes 5  distinct character traits-

  1. The need for achievement
  2. High individualism
  3. Internal locus of control
  4. Focus
  5. Optimism
The natural social entrepreneur receives personal satisfaction overcoming adversity to meet her goals.  She often goes against the opinions and trends of the mainstream. She strongly believes she shapes her own destiny but recognizes external factors and influences exist. She easily concentrates her attention to the task at hand and strategic goals ahead. Despite any setbacks or challenges she keeps a positive outlook and hopes for the best.

People whom do not possess these qualities naturally can learn to develop them over time with the help of shadowing role models, meditating daily, personal self-reflection and visual reminders of these values.  With practice an entrepreneurial mindset can be ‘wired into’ the brain, specially training the mind to make specific goal-oriented actions become second nature.
